NAMED AFTER ACADEMICIAN A.N.TAVKHELIDZE
FOR YOUNG SCIENTISTS
POSITION
The INR RAS Prize named after Academician A.N. Tavkhelidze for young scientists was established by the Institute of Nuclear Research of the Russian Academy of Sciences in memory of the merits of Albert Nikiforovich Tavkhelidze, an outstanding scientist, one of the founders and first director of the Institute. The prize is awarded annually to a young* scientist (or group of scientists) for a significant contribution to fundamental physics and the development of research in the main areas of the Institute’s scientific program.
The decision to award the Prize is made on the birthday of Academician A.N. Tavkhelidze (December 16) by the Scientific Council of the Institute on the recommendation of the expert commission and is formalized by order of the Director of the Institute.
The Prize winner is awarded a diploma of the Prize.
Individual employees of the Institute, or groups (no more than three) of employees of the Institute, as well as other Russian and foreign scientific centers, are nominated for the A.N. Tavkhelidze Prize. The right to nominate candidates for consideration by the expert commission belongs to members of the RAS, as well as to academic councils or scientific and technical councils of the Institute’s divisions.
A motivated submission of a candidate for the award is submitted to the expert commission, including, in accordance with these regulations, a description of the candidate’s specific contribution to fundamental physics and the development of research in the main areas of the Institute’s scientific program.
The deadline for submitting a submission to the expert commission is annually from May 1 to October 1 inclusive.
The composition of the expert commission is approved by order of the director of the Institute.
The amount of the Prize is determined annually taking into account the current amounts of RAS awards for young scientists.
